Never got a chance to say goodbye - February 4th 2011, 09:47 PM

Last saw her a week ago today
I talked to her
We got along
I liked her
She was cool to talk to and all
Now she's gone

How could this be?
It doesn't seem real
It hasn't hit me yet
That she's really gone

We weren't best friends, but we were friends
We didn't hang out outside of school
But we talked when we had class together
And smiled and said hi in the halls

Just a few months
Before graduation
Just a few months
Before we walk across the stage
And she will never be able to do that
It's too soon
She was so young

It hurts
To know how many people she left
Her family
Her boyfriend
Close friends
Teachers
Classmates
And I'm one of them

It doesn't seem real
I mean, I just saw her a week ago
And now she's gone
She's passed away
And so many people
Never got a chance to say
good bye

RIP Katie

Sorry about your friend.

I'm sorry you had to lose someone close to you. I know just how hard it is to lose a classmate senior year. It feels like everyone has so much ahead of them and then it's just over in the blink of an eye.

You'll get through this, okay? I'm here if you ever want to talk.

I am really sorry about your friend. I know you weren't as close to this person, but that doesn't change the feelings you are having. The feelings that you are having are normal. With time, things will get easier. For now, try to do things that make you happy. I know that the grieving process is going to take longer then a day.

The title of this thread says: Never got a chance to say goodbye. Obviously you can physically say bye to he. Write her a letter. That wil help you get the things out that you want to say.

But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. Often times we never suspect anything, and we never get to say goodbye. It can be tough to see but life goes on and time will heal your scars. Everything will be okay <3

I'm very apologetic to hear of your loss. Whether close as a relative, or distant as an aquaintance, death can affect people in many different ways and can affect a lot of people. It makes people aware that life is too short, and can easily be compromised. I hope you deal with this well, good luck in the future and keep your head high <3

Hey there!

I really am sorry about your friend. Also being a senior (by the looks of it, it seems you are too). It really does hurt to see someone come so close towards graduation but not make it.

She must have been going through a lot of things throughout her life to give up. Espcically when she had a boyfriend to lean on. It really is sad that she didn't get help, I can imagine how me and the other staff members could have helped her back on her feet.

This really does hurt, but try to think of this loss as motivation for you. Honor her name by achieving your goals and being successful in your life. Try to carry on what ever she left behind, maybe try to help comfort her family and see what can be done?

Don't let this pull you down. Dedicate your life and future for her.

Thank you all for all of your support and kind words. It means a lot to me. I know that with time things will get easier. I've got tons of support here and at my school and church and work.

Rylan, I just want to clarify that she died because the flu attack her heart but she also had a preexisting heart condition no one knew about. It all came about very quickly and they couldn't save her in time.

Thank you all again<3

oh dear. I'm really sorry. From how you said, I thought you meant she gave up on life. I'm really sorry if I caused anything.

But like on my post, honor her name by achieving your goals!
