I family friend, the son, died yesterday evening in the hands of loving family. He was only sixteen years of age.
He was suffering from A brain tumor that appeared suddenly. In the biopsy he nearly died on the operating table twice due to bleeding. This was five days before Xmas. They induced him into coma for two months. He missed the new years, and Christmas. His grandmother died but the parents did not tell him as not ruin his health. He began recuperating.. he was able to squeeze hands and open his eyes, and he could hear you. He had a relapse about a week ago, and yesterday evening he was brought back to his house where he died in peace. I visited him in the hospital just 24 hours before he passed away. He died on the day of his grandmothers funeral. I am filled with many emotions such as guilt and sadness. I feel so bad for his family and wish them the best. |

Sorry for your loss. It must be hard especially as he was so young but you shouldn't feel quilty its not your fault

Hey Trina,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It is so sad when anyone passes away but especially when it is someone so young. I had a friend who died of cancer last year and she was only 21.. It was just devastating and heartbreaking to see someone so young dying knowing there was nothing you could do to help. It is understandable that you are filled with so many emotions at the moment. The best thing for you to do is to express how you feel because holding it all inside will make you feel worse. I am not sure why you feel guilty but honestly you have nothing to be guilty for because it wasn't your fault. You can't be responsible for someone having cancer and I think you have enough to deal with without that guilt. You need to look after yourself and lean on those people who you are close to for that extra support through this. Stay strong. |

But it sounds like it was his time, and now he isn't suffering. Everything is all better for him now.<3 They call kids like us vicious and carved out of stone.
