My unlce passed away a week ago.I am taking it really hard, alot harder than I thought I would.I was really close to him.He died from what exactly we aren't exactly sure.He had a brain tumor a month ago. They took it out, he was in the hospital for a month.2 weeks ago he was sent home. The doctor said he had 6 months left.A week after he got home doc said he was doing better all the cancer was gone, but he will never walk again.2 days before he died doc said he was going downhill and cancer was spread throughout his whole body. The day that he died family told me he was up and getting stronger, was sitting at the computer for hours which he hasn't been able to do for a long time.I didn't seen him for 2 years before the funeral 2 days ago.I was supposed to be going to see him before he died in a week
.So thats also getting me down that I didn't get to say bye to him beforehand. On top of that at the funeral.I am always pushed out of the way on this side of the family, never really noticed. It really hurt on top of having to deal with his death. It didn't look like my uncle at all in that casket .I don't know how to deal with this.I am just really depressed which im sure is normal.

Hey kassandra,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It sounds really awful but I guess you have to think at least your uncle is not suffering anymore. He will be at peace and free from all the pain. You shouldn't feel bad for not going to see him because after all the doctor did say they thought he had 6 months left. I am sure you would have spent lots of time with him if you had of had the chance. But I guess you didn't. So you have to focus on the good times you did get to spend with your uncle. It is only natural to feel depressed. But you have to think what your uncle would want for you. He wouldn't have wanted to go but he had no choice. So now he would want you to be happy and get on with your life. I know right now that might seem impossible but you just have to take little steps. It will get easier in time so keep fighting. Stay strong. Soon... Now will be then...Today will be yesterday... Present will be past...And thought will be memory... So...Live for the future! Make your future how you want it!

Hi Kassandra,
Sorry to hear about your uncle's death. He's at peace now, and he's better where he is than he was before. It's not your fault that you didn't say goodbye. I'm sure he would understand and would want you to move on with your life. Anyway, I know it's hard to deal with a death and it's like a blow in your life. It's normal to feel depressed. It's also okay to take some time to recover and heal. . Everyone mourns and approaches the situation differently, and there's no right or wrong way. But the most important thing is to stay strong and mourn your own way. When you're comfortable enough and when you feel ready, you can let go of the fact that you didn't say goodbye. It's okay, I'm sure he would still love you with his whole heart, goodbye or no goodbye. Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live |
