Hey there. [:

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. I cannot imagine the pain you must have been going through for the last year and a half. Some wounds like that are very, very hard to heal. To answer your question, because everyone is so different, different people will 'heal' at different times. I'm sure Jessie will be able to elaborate on that when she sees your post. just-me, I'm going to link you to an article you might find beneficial: The Many Faces of Grief. Just remember, the memories you have with your friend are yours to keep. Nothing can take that away from you. Take care of yourself.

I don't think grieving actually ever goes away we just learn to deal with it and put other things before it but sometimes it'll creep up on us again. You've said you've talked about it so why don't you write about it instead, turn it into a poem a song or even a painting if you're artistic.

I don't think grieving ever ends. Maybe in time you will be able to look back and think of the positive memories of your friend; you will never forget your friend though because she was a special person to you. I lost my mum many years ago and it still hurts loads now. But I guess you have got to think about what your friend would want for you. She would want you to be happy and enjoying life, but I know that can seem impossible at times when you miss someone so much. I am here if you want to talk :-) Look after yourself.

Risking sounding like a broken record... I'm not sure grieving ever ends. There is the "process" everyone talks about, including myself, but there is nothing that will ever magically make our losses okay or better. With time it will become easier to experience our difficult emotions, but I'm not sure it's ever easy.

Someday I will be strong enough to lift not one but both of us.
I told you to be patient
I told you to be fine
I told you to be balanced
I told you to be kind
