Make the time you have left with her as amazing as possible. If you have anything you're hiding from her, you haven't forgiven her for, or she needs to forgive you for something, talk to her about it. You don't want her to leave and regret not telling her something or doing something with her.
Honestly, I think you're in a better situation than a person who has someone they love die unexpectedly because you have a chance to make her last days special.
And hey, doctors can sometimes make mistakes on timelines like that. She may end up living longer than you're expecting. If not, realize that she's in a position where she'll be getting rid of the suffering. She won't be in pain anymore.

Be strong!

I'm so sorry to hear that.
But do remember that she's in a much better place - she's not suffering anymore.
I'd definitely suggest going to the funeral though. It might make you feel a little more at ease.

It could be the shock, it took me years to realise my grandparents were gone forever. Go to the funeral and put your mind at rest but remember you can always visit her grave

I know it hurts right now, but it well get easier to deal with everything, you just have to give it time. And don't feel like you have to push your feelings away, it's okay to be sad or simply cry, what good is holding it all in?

Things will get better soon, I promise. x

Hi,

Im really sorry to hear about your aunt. It really hurts when somebody we love passes away. It is really normal to not feel anything at first, then have it hit you later. Just try and take each day as it comes, let yourself grieve for her. That is perfectly natural and everyone would need to grieve in their own way.

Jen

I understand the part about not feeling anything at first.
When my grandfather passed it didn't hit me until the next day.
Then when my mom followed a few days later, I fell apart. Its still agonizing to think about her. Don't push away what you're feeling for your aunt. Cry. It really does help.

Its OK to feel nervous about going to the funeral. I imagine it must be scary and upsetting thinking about having to say goodbye forever. Just stay for however long YOU want to, its fine.

Re: She has a month at most - March 13th 2009, 10:27 PM

hey...things went better than i thought they would.

everyone was ok, the nthey played amazing grace and everyone started tearing up. then the minister spoke. i was fine until he spoke about me >< then i started to cry a little. after that they played a song...and my grandma lost it, which made my lil cousin lose it, then i lsot it, then my mom....lol

but it felt sooooooooooooo good to cry about it!!!! i hadnt cried yet, at all, about it. and i feel ALOT better now. still really sad she died, of course...but yeah.

thank you all for your support!!! *HUGS*

Try to spend as much time with her as you can. Make her things to show her how much she means to you. Don't be afraid to cry, never hold it in. Trust me I know I been there too. Try not to remind her of it, she'll be sad to. She will miss you. Stay Strong.
