Tyler - July 18th 2011, 01:37 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of death or grieving, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

So this past September I lost my friend Tyler (yes, the gay teen suicide from Rutgers). We had grown up together, going to each other's birthday parties, he tried to teach me how to unicycle (epic fail btw) and had lunch together at school sometimes.

I still miss him and think about him just about every day. I know thats probably not healthy but how can you not when it was on every tv station, radio station, on every webpage, newspaper, and spoken on every radio station. Yes, a lot of that subsided since, but its resurfacing as his harassers are facing court trials and what not.

I just feel the need to tell him that I still think of him daily and I miss him and I don't think that his facebook page is the appropriate place to do so and for some reason I feel the need for it to be more public than just written in a note to myself.

So here it is:

I miss you Tyler and I would give so much for you to still be here today and I wish you had gone to me or another close friend of yours (don't want to name names on here) and had realized that suicide wasn't the only option you had, I love you and hope you are doing well up there and looking down and smiling on all the good that has come because the world lost you and your music too soon. Rest well. <3

"Make it stop,
Let this end.
This life chose me, I'm not lost in sin.
But proud I stand of who I am,
I plan to go on living."

Miss you Tyler, hope you are resting well <3

I can understand your pain. You lost a good friend and your letter to him shows that. I loved your letter ,it was very heart felt. I'm sure he is happy knowing that so many people care about him. I can't say a lot besides I'm sorry for your loss ,and I hope you will still remember the good times with im and maybe a little of the bad.

I can relate to what your going through. One of my best friends killed herself (I would prefer to keep her name private) over bullying.
I am so sorry you had to go through this also. But theres nothing wrong with thinking about him, that shows you truly cared. He was lucky to have a friend like you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know death is hard but I can't even begin to imagine how this must feel and what you are going through, having lost such a close friend to suicide over something that could have been stopped. I feel for you, I really do. Remember you can PM me at any time if you'd like to chat. If this is bugging you, talk to someone who knew him and just remenise. It's okay to cry and be upset, but do it healthily. You can get through this and you will do, just stay strong and keep your chin up.

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect
Take it off now girl, take it off now girl
I wanna see inside.
