Unhappy I'm sorry - August 15th 2011, 05:18 AM

Just over 3 months ago I lost my best friend, no Dean was more my brother. He was 17 when he committed suicide. I was talking to him until the moment he did it. I should of done something to stop him. Now he's gone and I feel it's my fault. I wish I could change the past. I'm so sorry Dean. I should of listened instead of just caring for myself. I wish I could go back and change things.

Hey, well done for saying these things.
Also, welcome to the site, great to have you here

I understand what your saying, and it sounds like it COULD be your fault. But it also sounds that Dean was fairly concentrated on commitning suicide, and Im wondering what is it you think you could have done to stop him?

Having personal experience of something similar, -well it's quite different but I also fell that it's my fault that my granny died.

However you say 'I wish I could go back and change things' -doesnt everybody though? At some point in anyones life they will do something wrong. It's within human nature to make mistakes, and what matters is not wanting to change things because you know it's not possible but it matters that we learn from our mistakes.

The past has happend, their is nothing you can do to change it, so just focus on the future-and create it how you want it.

If you ever want to chat I'm here. Feel free to PM or VM anytime
All the best

I could of payed more attention to his or something. Listened to him more, done something to show him how much I cared. I know that we all make mistakes, but I wish I could of made a different one than this.

We all face regret in our lives.
As iv already said it's not about what we do wrong but what we lern from it.
Just remember that and things will improve

Heyy,

I don't think this is your fault at all. Sometimes people feel there is no other way out, and sadly do commit suicide. There are many times in life where we will feel as though we could have done something different to change the outcome of the situation, but it doesn't necessarily mean it was our fault that it happened the way it did. Don't beat yourself up over this. I know it's hard but you've gotta carry on. You didn't do all you feel you could have done, but now you can learn that next time, if you should be faced with such a situation again (though I hope you don't as I'd never wish that upon even my worst enemy) that you need to do things in a different way to hopefully save a life.

Don't get too down about this. It doesn't sound to me as if it was your fault. Just surround yourself with some people who you love and who love you back, and let them help you through this. If you need to, and I think it might be something to consider, try talking to a counsellor, and allow them to help you realise that life needs to carry on now. You can do this, so stay strong and keep your chin up. The past is the past, and now we learn from it and move into the future.

Take care,
Hollie.

Would you let me see beneath your beautiful
Would you let me see beneath your perfect
Take it off now girl, take it off now girl
I wanna see inside.
