Unhappy Its been 2 years since I lost you, daddy - January 9th 2012, 02:35 AM

2 years ago, detectives came knocking on my door, and we were informed my daddy had been found dead in a hotel room, he had a heart attack. My family was already going through a hard time. I was 13 and was the only one on my daddy's side, he really was my best friend. Over the past 2 years, the pain of losing him has gotten worse, and I've started realizing I'll never have him in my life again. I still cry every night and put on a happy face for my mom. When will this sadness ever go away? I feel so empty without him. I never thought I'd grow up without my daddy.

Most of the sadness will go away - but you will always have those memories. Its ok to cry, and to still miss your Dad - but just understand that even though this was so tragic - we unfortunately all have people in our lives that pass on and we all pass on eventually. You didn't lose your dad - hes there with you, but you just cant see him.

Ill keep you in my thoughts.

Best wishes,
Chris

It is ok to cry and to be sad and to miss your dad still. It takes longer for some people to move on. I know it is easy to say but over time it does get easier to deal with even if the sadness never completely goes away. Eventually you will be able to remember him and be happy that you have thoes memories. For now you should be able to grieve in your own way. You will be with your dad again someday and you are not growing up completely without him I am sure he is watching you and is really proud.
