No Goodbye - February 10th 2012, 09:09 PM

My uncle just died yesterday morning. I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I was sick and my mom was the only one that got to say goodbye! Now My grandma is dying and my family won't let me see her one last time. Is there any way I can deal with this?

Wow - I am very sorry to hear about all this. I don't know what you are going through, but I can only imagine its not a good feelings.

Heres an Idea - write a letter to your grandma, and you don't even have to give it to her, but just express all your feelings, and all your worries. If you do it right, you should feel alot better.

Also, don't be afraid to let out some tears and let some of that emotion go. Death is upsetting, and it hurts even worse when you try to ignore the feelings and the grief.

If you need to talk - feel free to PM me.

Best wishes to you and your family,
Chris

I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle and your grandma. I can't even imagine the hard time that you are going through right now.

For your uncle: Perhaps you could write him a letter telling him everything that you wish you could have said. He won't be able to read it, but I think it could definitely help you get your feelings out. Also, you might want to consider lighting a candle in his honor.

For your grandma: You could also write her a letter. If your parents won't let you see her, ask them if they can give it to her or read it to her. Also, try telling them how important it is to you that you see her or show her how much you love her and how much you will miss her.

It's not healthy to hold your feelings about either of these family members inside. Losing someone you love is painful. You need to talk to someone about it. It can be a family member, a friend, a teacher, etc. It just needs to be someone that you're comfortable opening up to and leaning on for support.

Take care & PM me if you need to talk.
