'All Quiet On The Western Front'. - March 18th 2013, 09:43 PM

I read this book for the first time over the weekend and can't think how I never have before - I can't believe it evaded me for 22 years! It was one of the most powerful, poignant and gripping pieces of work I've read in a while and is really a must-read for anyone. It's so good! Has anyone else read it, and if so what were your thoughts??

I read it a few years ago for school, and I actually quite enjoyed it. I can't remember it too clearly, but I do remember that I liked the writing style, and I think I felt kind of sad at the end. Thanks for reminding me that I wanted to reread it.

Oh dooo!! It's so good, and so sad. I just like how comprehensible and easy to connect with it is even though it was written so many decades ago. <3

Oh wow this book... I loved it. It was so sad and so amazing and ugh I don't think I can do it justice when I talk about it, I loved it that much.

'It was beautiful, painful, heart wrenching and terrifying.' A quote from my book journal, just after I'd finished reading it.
