Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor - July 18th 2013, 07:20 AM

This is another example of a series of fantasy novels that totally blew my mind. I've been madly recommending them to friends, even though they've been filed in the YA section and we're technically all adults (pfffft).

Totally amazing. Beautifully written, great characters, fantastic take on an older idea until its totally fresh and new. Pretty sure when I started reading, everything ceased to exist until I'd finished each book, they were just that good. And, given I read a ridiculous amount, that means these ones were right up there.

Its dark and angsty at times, but combines perfectly with the various settings. Even if you're not into fantasy, I'd recommend you these books.

For those who have read them, thoughts? Favourite characters? Things that occupy you while you anxiously await book #3?

Re: Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor - July 18th 2013, 09:50 PM

I tried to read these a few months ago and I couldn't really get into it when I picked it up.

Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance, I've heard good things about it ever since, so I think I might give it another shot. :P
