When it comes to books... - April 21st 2012, 01:21 AM

what is your pet peeve?

For me it's books that end when there could still be more of a story to them, like the Fable Haven series, I read the whole series and then got so disapointed at the end, there was a whole other book that could have been written, and I'm not joking about that.

Another is when the library has something like the first book, but not the second, but has the third. That annoys me so much, because I hate the idea of skipping part of the series that way.

My last one (for this post) is when I get interested in a series and become a big fan and find out their out of print. This has happened to me twice. And the only way to get the other books of that series is a lot of money.... Which I don't have anyways.

I've said it once, I've said it twice, I've said it a thousand fucking times
That I'm OK, that I'm fine, that it's all just in my mind
But this has got the best of me, and I can't seem to sleep
It's not 'cause you're not with me, it's cause you never leave

I have a few:
1. When you think there could be a second book, but the author doesn't plan to.
2. When you can't find one book in a series, you look everywhere
3. When authors repeat details 3 times. It's SO annoying.

From day one I talked about getting out
But not forgetting about
How all my worst fears are letting out
He said, "Why put a new address on the same old loneliness?"
When breathing just passes the time
Until we all just get old and die

I think the only thing I don't like is when the first book in a series is the so much better than the other few, but I have to keep reading just to find out the ending.

I find it's more annoying when places have the second or third book and it looks like a really good series but they don't have the first one There's just something wrong about starting part-way through a series.

I also hate waiting aaaaages for the next book in a series to be released. I'm just impatient though

Hmm, I'd say the library not having the rest (or beginning) of an interesting series, when my favorite character dies and probably when the book ends in way that leaves me hanging...but it's the last book

1. Typos
2. Love Triangles. I hate them.
3. Instant love. Riiiiiiiiight
4. Weak protagonists. If I wanted to listen to someone whine I could watch Twilight.
5. Either "Mrs. Normal" when she clearly isn't or "I just want to be Mrs. Normal" when gifted with powers
6. Purple prose.
