Something I think everyone should read.. - January 27th 2009, 05:39 PM

In English we were recently assigned to read Tuesdays with Morrie. It is possibly one of the best books I've read, not because of the plot or because of the way its written but the message it gives out. It's a memoir but it's really good. It's really helping me with life in general, and just makes me see things differently.
Anyone else read it?

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"

I've been meaning to read it for so long.

Mitch Albom (I think that's how you spell it) has also written two other books I've read. I forget the name of one of them, but the other one was The Five People you Meet in Heaven. And I'm not religious, but it was a really cool, kind of inspirational book.

I'm going to write down that book in my "books to read" list in my head. Since I keep forgetting.

I've never read the book, or heard of it either for that matter! But I've been looking for a new good book that I could really get into so I'll try and check it out!
It's great when you have to read a book for English that you end up really enjoying! :]

I might read it, however I really wasn't fond of "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" sure it was good but it was no where near good enough for people to rave about it like they do.

Maybe I'll read it after the couple of things I'm reading now.
