Harry Potter series - May 2nd 2010, 02:44 PM

This thread has been labeled as containing spoilers. The contents of this thread might therefore describe important elements of a storyline that could ruin it for you. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

I've officially turned into a Harry Potter geek I had only ever read the 4th and 5th book before (the Goblet of Fire and the Order of the Phoenix) but had watched all the films. I decided to listen to them all (I have the audiobooks) from start to finish I realise how much better they are compared to the films. I just finished the Chamber of Secrets. I understand it a lot more now too, I always got confused on who Tom Riddle actually was. I realise how much I love Stephan Fry too after I finish the audiobooks I'll read them all too.

I can't believe you've only just read (listened) to the books where have you been?

I'm a Harry Potter geek too, haha.

I looooove Harry Potter. I've been obsessed for as long as I can remember. Legit since about fourth or fifth grade, because HBP came out in 2005 and I remember having read the first four books before that one came out.

From the ages 11 to 15, every second sentence that came out of my mouth was about HP. I'm still completely obsessed, but people got tired of hearing about it.

Re: Harry Potter series - May 3rd 2010, 12:21 AM

Harry Potter is brilliant and like most things- I think that the books are way better than the films (although I do love the films too but they often leave bits out!)
My fave book of all time is the Deathly Hallows =] its full os suspense, i bit my nails the entire way through! Couldn't put it down!
When I was first given the philosophers stone when I was about 10 I thought it was rubbish and gave up after about 50 pages, but then picked it back up when I was about 12 and realised its amazing!!

So imaginative! It annoys me when people say that the Twilight series is better- it really really doesn't even compare (although I have read and liked that series too but not as much as HP!) HP is way more creative and suspense filled and clever and imaginative and addictive!

I love the series. I'm quite a bit of a fanfiction geek where Harry Potter is concerned. They keep me satisfied.

It'd be a dream come true to go to Hogwarts.

Re: Harry Potter series - May 5th 2010, 04:08 PM

I remember reading the first chapter of the first book and not liking it. My Mum read it and then told me how much she liked it so I went back a few months later and read it and loved it. Now I love them all, my least favourite is Order of the Phoenix.

I remember getting close to the end and I went to go to sleep but my Mum made me stay up and finish it so I could get passed the scary part and to the happy ending so I could sleep.

Re: Harry Potter series - May 7th 2010, 12:07 PM

We quite often get into an argument with my Extension English teacher at school. She can't stand HP. She always says it's not well written and doesn't have a good storyline and etc and etc. And we just look at her and go, 'What are you talking about? It's amazing!'

I'm a big HP fan.

Rachel: That was my least favourite too.

Nothing in the world is
the way it ought to be.
It's harsh, and cruel.

But that's why there's us - champions.
Doesn't matter where we come from,
what we've done or suffered,
or even if we make a difference.

We live as though the
world is as it should be,
to show it what it can be.

I loves the Harry of the Potters! Read all of the books at least 3 times.
