Books to read? - June 11th 2010, 02:59 PM

I'm running out of books to read, so could anyone tell me some books to read. I love books about like child abuse, rape, teen romance. Anything like that.

Have you read PS I love you? It is an amazing book! I don't normally go for books like that but I love it.
Also the Malorie Blackman - Noughts & Crosses Trilogy (although there's four), they kinda combine a mixture of genres or topics I guess.
Take care.

Have you read anything by Sarah Dessen? I'd recommend anything by her! Also, I find goodreads.com to be an amazing way of finding and keeping track of books, so you might find that helpful!

I agree with trying out Goodreads, that's a great way of finding books to read. A few of my favourites that you may like, based on what you have mentioned in your post:

The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky
Scarred - Sophie Andrews
The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold
The Pact - Jodi Picoult
Just Listen - Sarah Dessen

I know why the caged bird sing- Maya Angelou

I hear it is really good and I think it might have some of the stuff you are looking for. It is a biography I believe but it is a classic. You might at least look into it? Hope this helped

There could never be amore beautiful you
Don't buy the lies, disguisesandhoops they make you jump through
You were made tofill a purposethat only you could do
So there could never be amore beautiful you
-Johnny Diaz

Everyday
is so wonderful
And suddenly it's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, I feel so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Tryin' hard to fill the emptiness, the piece is gone
Left the puzzle undone, ain't that the way it is?

'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down, oh no
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

just to add, if you do read The Pact by Jodi Picoult that Stephanie mentioned i'd reccommend reading anything by her. She's such a good author and even though not all of her books are about the topics that you mentioned they're all so well written and realistic they just draw you in.

I even heard your mamma wanted some of this...
