Reading LOTR - July 7th 2010, 01:18 AM

I'm on the Fellowship right now. I really didn't have the patience for the books a few years ago but now I'm in love with it I can't put it down!

Lord of the Rings is made entirely of awesome, and one of my favorite series. It can be hard to read, but it's worth it for the great characters and worldbuilding. Tell me how you like it!

Re: Reading LOTR - July 20th 2010, 09:08 PM

I tried reading those books on 3 separate occasions and could really get into them. It kind of disappoints me because it sounds like a really interesting trilogy. I figure I might pick them up one day in the future and try again.

I hope you enjoy reading them though.

There could never be amore beautiful you
Don't buy the lies, disguisesandhoops they make you jump through
You were made tofill a purposethat only you could do
So there could never be amore beautiful you
-Johnny Diaz

Everyday
is so wonderful
And suddenly it's hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain, I feel so ashamed

I am beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring me down
I am beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

To all your friends you're delirious
So consumed in all your doom
Tryin' hard to fill the emptiness, the piece is gone
Left the puzzle undone, ain't that the way it is?

'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say
Words can't bring you down, oh no
You are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no
So don't you bring me down today

Re: Reading LOTR - July 20th 2010, 09:10 PM

I've just started re-reading them after working my way through the extended films. I was amazed at how difficult I found t, considering I first read the book in Year 5 of primary school....so aged....10? Still worth the effort though, what an epic! I have a proper battered 1980's edition with all 3 books in one....it looks like it's been to hell and back

Just a hop, skip and a jump.

I love LOTR
However sometimes I was left a bit bemused by the descriptions, but that's probably because I read it past midnight

Life is a waterfall,
we're one in the river,
and one again after the fall.
We drink from the river,
then we turn around and put up our walls.
When you lose small mind,
you free your life.
When you free your eyes,
eternal prize.

Oh aye, Tolkien was a master of his craft.

I make sure to read them at least once or twice a year ^_^
