Cure for writer's block? -
September 26th 2010, 10:22 PM
Just wondering if anyone has any advice on curing writer's block? I have an upcoming essay that is due in a few days, and I kinda been drawing blanks. I just want simple suggestions for writer's block in general. Thanks!

go out and spend time in nature...go sit somewhere (with your computer or notebook) and take in the "quiet". I find when I am thinking way too much about the project...I get more stressed. So, when I go somewhere quiet and peaceful (like in nature)...I get inspired because then it just starts to pour out of me-that always works for me

Great suggestion! Thanks!
(It's kind of ironic too because some of what I have to write about deals with nature, it's perfect!) :P

When I have writers block I:
Listen to music Read Think about every but the piece of work I am writing. (For some reason when it isn't on my mind I end up getting some ideas about it) Sit in nature/people watch There could never be amore beautiful you
Don't buy the lies, disguisesandhoops they make you jump through You were made tofill a purposethat only you could do So there could never be amore beautiful you -Johnny Diaz Everyday is so wonderful And suddenly it's hard to breathe Now and then I get insecure From all the pain, I feel so ashamed I am beautiful no matter what they say Words can't bring me down I am beautiful in every single way Yes, words can't bring me down, oh no So don't you bring me down today To all your friends you're delirious So consumed in all your doom Tryin' hard to fill the emptiness, the piece is gone Left the puzzle undone, ain't that the way it is? 'Cause you are beautiful no matter what they say Words can't bring you down, oh no You are beautiful in every single way Yes, words can't bring you down, oh no So don't you bring me down today -Christina Aguilera |

I was going to suggest 'A great shag', but then thought it might be a bit inappropriate D=
But the best thing to get past writers block is to go out and do fun things D= 'And in the garden, lust began The animal instinct, the wanton man She fed him with a hunger, an appetite And fillin' with emotion he took a bite' Def Leppard - Women |

Lots of the already posted suggestions are good. You can also try reading or watching a movie or tv.
