You might want to check out the sticky "What I'm Reading Now" and the thread "Books You Just Have to Read" for ideas.

Have you ever read the Morganville Vampires series, or Vampire Academy? Those are all I have for vampires. But you could always read the Maximum Ride series, I love/d those books, lots. They're not about vampires, but they're a bit science fiction / romance / yeah, you get what I mean

Even if you have to spend an hour at the bookstore, you'll find something!

oh my gosh I love these kinds of books!
I highly reccommend the Otherworld series by Kelly Armstrong.
I read the first book and loved it so much I went and bought them all.
Mainly about Werewolves, Vampires, Witches etc in the modern world.
It starts with Bitten and goes on from there.
I think you'd love them
Good luck!

Supernatural romance? The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov sounds just right for you then, not only is it beautificly written and a classic it also has an engaging storyline.

It also has a sub-plot of soviet satire which is also quite interesting.

Epic high-fives for having read Tamora Pierce! If you haven't read all of her Tortall books (The Lioness Quartet, The Wild Magic Quartet, and The Protector of the Small Quartet) you should. I also HIGHLY advize Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy (Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, Amber Spyglass), as I still feel they are the greatest works of fiction ever concieved.

The atoms that make up you and me were born in the hearts of suns many times greater than ours and in time our atoms will return once again to reside amongst the stars. Life is but an idle dalliance of the cosmos, frail, and soon forgotten. We have been set adrift in an ocean whose tides we are only beginning to comprehend, and with that maturity has come the realization that we are, at least for now, alone. In that loneliness, it falls to us to shine as brightly as the stars from which we came.

I know you said you read Valiant, but have you read Tithe and Ironside by Holly Black? Those are both pretty good.

Are you looking more for teen fiction, or adult? Anne Rice is pretty good.

I recently found this book yesterday and can't put it down. I'm on page 300 now It's written by Elizabeth Chandler. The version I bought is combined with the two other parts of the trilogy The Power of Love, and Soulmates

You should read "Crank" and "Burned" by Ellen Hopkins. I think there's 3 other books by her, too. She's a really good author! (:

LOVE. THAT. BOOK. It's a very fun read.

(Also-- gotta love the Russian move series of this with the botched semi-transparent naked broomstick flying scene. Only in Russia.)
