December 1st 2011, 10:32 PM
I am considering reading something like Crosses, or Cut, or maybe something like Tuesdays with Morrie. I really don't know. Any ideas?

Is Cut by Patricia McCormick? That was an excellent book. It's an easy read but it's so amazing, a book that I enjoy reading over and over.

Yes, it is. I don't know if I've read it all the way through. I may do that sometime.

I haven't read Cut all the way through, either, but what little I have read of it is good. I think you should try it. : )

I'd read any Mitch Albom book (with the exception of his newest one, Have a Little Faith...only because I haven't read that one yet so I can't recommend it). His books are phenomenal.
"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.' I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish. 'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.' 'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said. 'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'" |

The Perfect Cut by Julie Burtinshaw was pretty good too.

I wasn't familiar with that one, so I looked it up. It sounds like a good book.

Although this was not mentioned on the list, if you haven't already read it I would read the book thief because it's amazing and although looks big and maybe tough... it was probably the best I've ever read apart from Harry Potter of course!

I LOVED The Book Thief! I didn't mention it because it didn't go along with the other ones as much.

Oh. The Book Thief sounds good. I don't really mind if it doesn't go along with the others at all. That's just where my thought process was when I was thinking of examples.

Oh well, in that case I have hundreds of suggestions!
This is my goodreads read list, based on the rating I gave each book. If you're talking about cut by Cathy Glass, then I love that book, it is really good.

I loved The Book Thief as well; I'd definitely recommend it.
Have you read Thirteen Reasons Why (Jay Asher)? It can be triggering, but I think it's a good book. Along those lines is one of my all-time favourite books, Aimee (Mary Beth Miller), which you might like. I love reading, and I love talking about books almost as much, so hit me me up if you ever feel like it.

Thirteen Reasons Why is an absolutely phenomenal book! I also LOVED listening to the audiobook.
