Harrassment over the Phone - May 4th 2009, 05:44 PM

Lately, I've been getting calls from a restricted number. The caller would be silent and dial in a few numbers for a second before hanging up.

Today, they answered when I said "Hello?".

The female voice on the phone asked if I had school today. When I asked who she was, she just said, "your worst nightmare- get over it," and hung up.

Moments later, I got a call from the same girl. I THINK she said "the police will be visiting your home today."

First off, is there a way I can block calls from restricted numbers on a Verizon network?

Second, is there a way I can trace this number without legal assistance, such as a police trace or court order? If I DO have to use a court order, would that cost me money? I don't take threats well, and if this person decides she wants to continue with her little pranks, I WILL hunt her down.

Third, should I be worried?

Hmm I know on my old phone, which was an LG, you could go on 'Call settings' And then on there there'd be a call reject option and you could reject calls that didn't have Caller ID and you could reject restricted calls too. What phone do you? I don't think Nokia's can do it or Sony Ericssons. If you don't have a call reject option on your phone then you can get your network provider to block numbers (I assume there'll be able to find the number out or find some way of blocking it)

You could try *69...
That'll give you the number of your last incoming call. Even if they *67'd it.

Also *67 is a device that will restrict your number.
That's a possibility of what they did.

Or you can set up a call net, which is something cops can do. I'm pretty sure it's free, and it'll trace all blocked calls (etc...) for a set amount of time...

I don't think you should be worried. Just keep on top of it, and PM me if you need anything.
