It's just as bad.

If you're ever online bullied http://www.stopcyberbullying.org/

I've been cyber bullied. Even on here. If you're ever bullied on here report it. Hopefully something will be done. How do you handle being cyber bullied?

I ignore those people. Fortunately, the internet sites are full of "block" "ignore" and "invisible".

I'm sorry though, that it's happened on TH. I certainly haven't, but it happens. Just ignore it or report it to the mods.

Sorry you've been bullied online =/
That's one not so great thing about the internet, it's happened to me a lot of time too.
The best you can do really is if it's on a site like this report it to someone on the staff, or if it's on a chat window like msn or something, just block the person.

I've been bullied online. By several people, and they brought the fight into my school the next day and i was beaten up outside school.
The school didn't want anything to do with it. They just punished me instead.
How lovely.
I hate it how the school doesn't deal with bullying.

Huh? How do you get bullied online? :/ Just block the person, unless they are hacking into your accounts, then it's a totally different problem.

when you block someone via msn...

and find other ways to get at you.

I've been cyber bullied, people claiming they were someone else (friends of mine) and cussing me out. They also kept trying to convince me that my then bf was cheating on me. They emailed/threatened him as well. It was all rather ridiculous. I ended up filing a police report and they were able to trace the IP address. But thanks for the site! I'm sure that can come in handy.

I fortunately havn't been cyber bullied, I try to keep my identity as secret as possible.

It's gonna sound silly but what the heck;
I run my own online game, it its not a rare thing to find 1 member harassing another.

I have 0 respect for anyone that has to lower themselves to such a low standard.
Anyway I checked out that site and gave them $50, I'm always up to help the helpers. :]

Are you serious?! It happens every day. It even pushes some to suicide.
Go to that site I posted and educate yourself.

Exclamation not staying silent about online bullying - January 29th 2009, 06:37 PM

Have you ever been bullied online? Do you know if you have? There are so many ways a bully can get to you and one of the fastest growing ways is online bullying.
A lot of people think this can't be that bad. Just "block them or ignore them" but most bullies know how to get around that.
We'll start with bullying via email. It's just like any other way of bullying on only in typing format. From www.besafeonline.org The best advice to avoid this is:

* if a name is not familiar, it may be safer not to open the email
* if the sender is a known bully or if they have sent unpleasant or annoying messages before, then ignore it and delete it straight away
* if the bullying happens through a personal email account, report it to the sender’s email account provider – you can find this address after the @ sign
* if it is not obvious who the sender is and there is continual bullying using email, then there are tools to trace senders. To find out more about this email tracking, go to one of the search engines, (e.g. Google, Yahoo, etc) and type in “email tracking software” - this software can then be downloaded. Once you know the identity of the bully, get in touch with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) who can then block the sender from your email.
* if the email bullying is occurring in school, then this should be dealt with through the school’s anti-bullying policy.

Bullying on the internet or via webpage.
Bullies can set up a "hate" page saying horrible things about the victim anonymously. This can be very hurtful and even cause to the victim to turn to self harm and/or suicide. If you think you've been bullied this way, contact your ISP. They can find out who created the site.

Opening my eyes:

I came in contact with a girl's mother several months back. The girl, Megan Meier, was a beautiful sweet girl that suffered from depression. A fellow classmate and mother decided to make a false myspace and harrass Megan. They harrassed her to death. She committed suicide in 2006. At the time, I was doing a project on onling bullying and her mother was "touched that my daughter's memory lives on".
Megan's not the only victim of this horrible bullying. I just wish (as does her mother) this would end.

If you think you're being bullied here are some resources:

www.stopcyberbullying.org/

www.besafeonline.org

www.onlinebully.org

Don't be afraid to speak up either. You're never alone.

ok...these weren't supposed to be merged into the same thread. I have no clue who did it. It wasn't me.
This post was more serious and not about me. I was hoping for a sticky since cyber bullying is so serious.
