Self-Conscious? -
March 3rd 2010, 11:41 PM
Not sure if this is the correct place for this, but...yeah.
One of my guy friends has always had issues with self-esteem, but ever since our freshman year he has been almost a recluse. He even has issues talking to me sometimes (we've known eachother since pre-k and have been the closest of friends ever since. Any ideas how I can help him overcome this? I try to remind him that he's handsome and smart and sweet and funny...but it doesn't seem to be helping. Thanks, Andie |

Well I hear that for psychology and couciling and what not they try to get the person to open up and talk about it. I'd see if you can do that first.
So is he being bullied then? I could understand why if he's really shy. Thats always who bullies pick on. You have to find the source of his self esteem if you want to help though... Any ideas? ![]() |

I might be wrong but you might want to ask people in the mental health or general forums.
I'm fairly useless for this though. But he might feel better if he can talk to someone about it. So try to build enough trust so he knows he can talk to you about anything. But thats about the extent of my knowledge. I'm sure someone else here could help more. ![]() |
