Triggering (Bullying): my friend jsut called me

my friend just called me to tell me that i need to calm down at college because her friend had rang her to say that someone at college does not like me, and that if i dont shut up at college they are going to beat me up. thing is i dont know what i have done, i do my work and i talk to the people on my table, everyone talks in college and when i talk it seems i annoy people, i have college on wednesday and i'm now scared to go into college in case this girls there and if shes there she is gona beat me up, what do i do ? i am so scared. one of the girls finished so that was one problem sorted then theres another girl who dont like me i can handle her i just luagh it off sorta thing, but now another girl on my course wants to beat me up. what do i do ? shall i jsut stay quiet at college and never speak ? i told my friend who rang me to tell me this, oh its nothing i cant handle i dont want my friend worrying about me but the thing is i cant handle this, its to much the comments from the other girl i just laugh off but how i do laugh this off ? im dreading college on wednesday and am feeling tempted to bunk college. what do i do, help!

That is so ridiculous. I can't believe a girl would want to beat you up for talking. And that rather than approaching you about it, she would call someone else who would then call someone else who would call you. I'm sorry that you have to deal with such idiots.

To be honest, I wouldn't be too worried about it. If this girl can't even threaten you to your face, it seems unlikely that she will actually follow through with beating you up. Especially because then you could have her arrested for assault. As hard as it might seem, laughing it off might be the best thing to do. This girl has scared you, which was no doubt her intent, but realistically she can't actually touch you. By going to college on Wednesday and showing her that you aren't going to put up with that kind of stuff, she will probably back down.

You might want to talk to her about this though. Take some friends with you if you are worried about her attacking you. And tell her that if she has a problem with you, she should talk to you about it maturely, rather than making threats behind your back. Tell her that if she doesn't want to talk about the issue in a mature manner, then that is her problem, but if she continues to make threats or to even attempt to harm you in any way, you will go to the police. And follow through on that if she tries anything again.

At first i wasn't quite sure what to think of this, but faerie is exactly right, she pretty much somes up everything i needed to say.

But one thing:
I know someone at school whos really annoying when he talks, he's not being mean he just doesn't shut up. Hah hah, still i'm his friend, and the very worst thing thats happened to him, is someone has told him to shut up, (with the odd swear word) no ones ever tried to beat him up before. So don't worry, this girls just a loud mouth cyber bully. You can beat her by going into college and holding your head high.

If she wanted to beat you up, she'd have the guts to say it to you face.

Ignore it. People say many things they don't mean or intend to carry out while angry. If she does want to beat you up, then it should be said face-to-face, otherwise it's cowardly and doubtful it will happen. Don't avoid going to college for one day just because of what someone is saying to you. If something does indeed happen, then you're in a place where there are many people so any fight is likely to stop pretty fast and she will be the one who gets into trouble, not you. If you avoid going, then this girl can be more dominant to you because you avoided going simply based on a single threat she said that she may not have ever carried out. If you go, then it shows you are not affected by the mere words she is saying because college is more important to you than her words, which is what it should be.

Is there something you said probably ? Because there has to be a reason and if its not that you said something maybe they just don't like you. But i am puzzled though, did you say something to anger her/them ?

when my friend called me she was like telling me to be careful at college and stuff, and that people are teasing me for how i dress, and that one girl wants to beat me up for talking to much i dont talk that much, i do my work and then i asked my tutor if could show her a picture on my camera, at the time it was only intended for my tutor to see the picture, but then we got into a debate over wether or not i had caught a spirit on film, and then a few people from college class got involved, thats the only thing i can think of that may have annoyed this girl, but i asked my tutor if it was ok for me to show her the picture, i only took my camera in because the week before i was talking to my tutor about spirits and stuff and i said oh next week i will bring in my camera and show you the spirit i caught on camera. so i did. but some people from my college class got involved. trouble just seems to follow me, where ever i go theres always something bad that happens to me. college, work, firends houses, shopping. something bad always happens, i should be used to it but im not.

when im in college theres a couple of girls who talk about me while im in the room and laugh at me, like laugh at my hair and my clothes. i tend to dress emo/alternative, so i have a side fringe which covers one eye, and my clothes and mostly black with a purple top on underneath or something like that. so they tend to tease me about how i dress, but im always in the room when they do it. sometimes i laugh it off or just pretend i havent heard them, the tutors in the room at the time aswell but the tutor never says anything. but they also talk about me when im not in the room.

From what you are saying, these are just bullies. Bullies who just want to cause you trouble so that they can have someone to bully. Especially after you mentioned how you dress and the stuff that perhaps you talk about. So, I say you should live your life. Don't be afraid and go on with life. Hopefully you won't see this post too late. But it seems clearly they just want someone to pick on. Just go on with your life and live well. Leave them be. Don't speak to them or even seek to get their attention.

well they've been doing this bullying thing for a while and they havn't beaten you up. I think its just an empty threat.

Next i would try experimenting with these bullies, when they insult your looks, say different things each time, see what makes them shut up, Just whatever you do don't insult them.

Try and pretend their attempts to bully you make you happy. Thats the best way i think.

I would start by laughing and constantly saying "so" when they find you don't even care they will stop.

true though the girls who comment on the way i dress are different from the one who wants to beat me up, luckily i have not been into college this work ( was needed at work to cover for someone) im hoping it is just an empty threat, luckily now im needed at work every wednesday, so its just thursdays i will be in college, that is until where i work shuts for half term, then im in college threee days a week then after the week off work im in college on day a week agian.

Damn, she fails at excuses as well as being a good friend? Just go to school or whatever as normal. if they try to push you around, don't let them. You have to stand up for yourself

i know, i worry way to much, but in the past people have threatend to beat me up and have, so ive got into my head that when someone threatens to beat me up its going to happen. yeah the good bit is i am not dreading college next week!
