Angry Mass Hate on Facebook - June 14th 2011, 02:24 AM

So, I did that "Tag Your Friends" thing on Facebook, and I did it for a while so I could unlock my tags. Unfortunately I pissed everyone off because I posted "9054285725" things on their walls. My entire wall is covered in hate messages, "Stop posting on my wall, you're pissing me off!" "You're being annoying, stop." "WTF, stop posting on my damn wall," and then tell me to get my panties out of my crack and grow up when I get pissed and react. And now I post a single thing on their wall, and they say, "Cut it out, you're not cute." What the hell is up with this??

Well when you do things like that it does get annoying if you are posting a lot. Although they do have a feature where your friends can block this so it is partially their fault as well. It is your face book though so technically you can post whatever you wish too. And they do have the power to delete you.
But at the same time it is common facebook etiqute that you don't go crazy with the shit either.

Loads of people don't like to be tagged in those photos because they're not actually in the photo and causes people to receive a billion notifications whenever someone comments on it. It wasn't really nice of them to say the things they did. I don't know too much about this app, but perhaps you can avoid tagging them in the future?

You are acting like a monster on this site. Sure, being tagged in a lot of things can be annoying, but you have no right to speak to someone like that.

Dude, what the fuck? Seriously "people like you make me fucking vomit."

What the hell is that to say to someone? It was totally uncalled for. You need to learn some manners and grow a pair man.

Also, I find it ironic that you're being an asshole on the bullying forum dude. I bet you wish you had real friends to help you with your obvious real life bullying issues and lack of self esteem.

- Justin

To the OP: Your "Friends" weren't being kind by saying that, but it really is annoying getting tagged in 13 billion photos. Next time keep the tagging to a minimum.

There's not much you can do because it seems the more you react, the more hate messages you'll get. If you can, untag the people and leave it at that. Alternatively, hockeyfan118 presents a very feasible option if the hate messages don't stop even after you stop replying and you're sick of them, then it's perhaps time to retire the current FaceBook page in place of a new page. If you're able to, block the people who sent the messages or delete their hateful messages.

What hockeyfan118 said was fairly uncalled for and we can mope and groan over that, I don't care what they post, they have the right to speak to people however they want. If they speak to people very rudely and get a dent in their face, so be it, it's still in their right to speak like that. Saying they don't have the right to speak in such a manner is a double-edged sword as it applies to you as well. I don't particularly care to argue this point in this area of the forum but if you are keen to argue it, make a thread in the Current Events & Debates section.

However, keep in mind, they're a troll.

I mean, I'm offended by what he said, but I'm not getting my panties in a wad about it, you know?? I don't know him, he don't know me, and we don't have to change that. So, no biggie.

Hey there,

Ignoring what has been said and obviously removed now, I'll try to help tou out on this. Being tagged in things is annoying and sends a lot of notifications about things that actually have nothing to do with the person. you have to realise that not everyone enjoys this kind of thing and that they're bound to be wound up by it. However, I do think they're in the wrong for acting the way they did about it. Rudeness shouldn't be the answer to this. It's bothering you quite clearly, so I'd suggest telling them calmly that they can always untag themselves if they wish. Also, if they are rude to you, there's always the report/block button you can use, and the 'unfriend' option. Remember they're there to be used and you don't need to expeirence the abuse on there that you are. But like I said, they have reason to be annoyed so keep that in mind, not that you've done anything wrong of course, but some people don't enjoy these things.

Take care and PM me if you ever need to talk,
Hollie.

Re: Mass Hate on Facebook - June 14th 2011, 06:01 PM

Hi there,

As said by the others, tagging photographs of people who are not actually present in the photo can be annoying, because they will receive a load of uneccessary notifications. It would be best to untag them. However, they should not be rude to you like that, it is unacceptable.

I'd recommend using the Facebook 'block' feature and block the people completely. You don't need 'friends' who are going to be nasty and rude to you like that, you don't have to put up with it.

If you are unsure on how to block a person, here's the way to do it:
Quote:
  1. From your Account dropdown menu, select "Privacy Settings."
  2. Under Block Lists, click "Edit your lists."
  3. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to block in the appropriate field and click "Block." People will not be notified when you block them.
If you can’t find someone using this method, try going to the person’s profile page. You can block them by scrolling down to the bottom of the left column and clicking the "Report/Block This Person" link. Once you click this link, check the "Block this person" box and then click "Submit."

If you still can’t block someone using the methods described above, it’s possible that they have left Facebook or have restricted their privacy settings. You can still prevent them from viewing your profile by adjusting your "Privacy Settings."
I hope this has helped, if there's anything you need at all, feel free to PM me anytime and I'll be more than happy to help you out.

Do your friends a favor and unfriend them. It'll keep them from having to deal with spam and you won't have to deal with their justifiably annoyed reaction.

Re: Mass Hate on Facebook - June 16th 2011, 06:59 PM

I personally get really annoyed when people tag me in all that stuff. Usually, I mark it as spam, and delete it off my page. But some of them you can't just "ignore" and block from your page, for example if it's a photo you're being tagged in that you're not actually in. I can see why they'd get angry, and they should have been a little nicer in asking you to stop or perhaps done so in a private message.

However, I feel like "getting pissed and reacting" might not have been the best choice for you to make. What exactly is the "one thing" you post on their wall? Is it an actual wall post or is it one of the apps/photo things? If it's you actually writing, it's a bit mean. But I could understand them getting annoyed if it isn't.

If they keep saying mean things, just delete them.

"'Colie, you should never be surprised when people treat you with respect. You should expect it.'
I shook my head. 'You don't know--' I began. But, as usual, she didn't let me finish.
'Yes,' she said simply, 'I do know. I've watched you, Colie. You walk around like a dog waiting to be kicked. And when someone does, you pout and cry like you didn't deserve it.'
'No one deserves to be kicked,' I said.
'I disagree,' she said flatly. 'You do if you don't think you're worth any better...'"

Those spam things are really common. Obviously your "friends" aren't friends at all. I get those things posted on my wall all the time, but it's their fault for not blocking the program, if it was SO damn annoying.

I'm sorry that people are giving you a hard time...sometimes Facebook can be a jerk :P
