Unhappy Do I have an Anxiety disorder? - April 28th 2009, 02:00 AM

Ok.. So I havnt been able to really talk to anyone about this.. my rents kind of roll their eyes and i just dont know what to do...

I feel like Ive had an anxiety problem lately.. The past 2 months or so I constantly feel as if I have a knot in my stomach. You know like when you think your about to get in trouble or hear bad news? That horrible gut wrenching feeling you get in your stomach.. It wont go away!! Ive been somewhat stressed with school, and did break up with my 3year bf about a month ago.. but it started before that..

the tiniest thing makes me feel so overwhelmed. I worry about things I have no control over. I worry about apointments I have tomorrow, or even grades changing that I know i already made! Its upsurd. I started talking to this guy, and weve been rocky and jus being curious on whether or not he'll text me sends me over the edge.. I feel like my chest is going to explode..

i constantly have to take deep breaths to calm myself down.. i barely eat because my anxiety is so bad i practically feel naseuas and im gonna throw up.. i cant sleep.. i toss and turn all night... i cant stand it anymore im out on the beach with my friends drinkin a beer in the sun and my anxiety is still killing me!!

i dont know what to do anymore... does anyone have any advice or similar situations..??

please help me...

Hey there! Welcome to TeenHelp.

We are not medical professionals; no one here can diagnose you with an anxiety disorder. However, if you are worried, I highly reccomend you make an appointment with your physician. He or she may refer you to a psychiatrist, who will be able to properly evaluate your mental health.

All of that being said, I have an anxiety disorder and often feel the same way. It can be really tough, and I am so sorry that you're going through this. Until you can speak with your doctor, try to explore new ways to cope with your feelings of anxiety. Research some breathing exercises, take up yoga, write, make schedules and lists...anything that can help you feel even a little less stressed. Take care of yourself; take the time to relax, make sure you're getting plenty of sleep and eating right. Anxiety is often much easier to cope with when you're at your best physically.
