Exclamation not looking for a diagnosing just advice - March 18th 2014, 02:10 AM

so uh hi guys long time no see

so ive had this problem pent up inside me for quite a awhile im fairly sure i have aneixy and possible depression but im scared if i ask to go to a counseler my mom will laugh and tell me its all in my head and im just a kid and i dont even know what those mean.

so heres whats been happening.(in a neat list)

~if we go to a gas station at night and i stay in the car ill see another one pull up beside me and try not to look while im thinking in my head OMG what if he has a gun what if hes gonna hold them hostage what if he shoots my family member etc

~if im by a sharp object i think 'I could kill my self right now its not like anyone would care im just some fat ass ugly kid from buttfuck nowere

~i think of scenorios in vivid detail how i would kill someone or my self

i just really need some help or advice also
did any of you guys take over the counter meds to help with your depression / aniexty

Hey Dominick, I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with this. I don't think your mom would laugh at you, but if you're still afraid to tell her I would suggest your school counselor. Depending on what you tell them they might have to tell your mom anyway, but they can talk you through that and will also be able to connect you to counselors who can provide the help you need. I have never taken medication for my anxiety or depression, but I hope that you can get the help you want and need.

If you need a technique for anxiety I was taught to take deep breaths and repeat to myself "be calm" until the anxiety starts to go away.

I agree with Kate. I really don't think your mom would laugh at you. However, if you don't feel comfortable asking her for help, I suggest finding someone else to reach out to. It's important to reach out and get support from people you trust and professionals. You can try to get some counseling or you could talk with a trusted adult about your feelings. I hope everything works out!
