I jsut need a word of reassuarance - April 8th 2014, 07:07 AM

I have to leave in an hour for a job trial for something I have no experience in and have had a terrible amount of anxiety about it, feeling sick and terrified. really doesn't help that I got my period today so feeling physically nauseous as well. it' taking everything I have not to ring up and cancel, im dying to do that so badly. can someone just say its going to be ok??

I'm really sorry that no one managed t reply to you in time! I hope that your job trial went ok and that you managed to take something to help ease your period!

I know your job trial has already taken place, but please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you! It's easy to catastrophize when we're in a heightened state. When I'm feeling anxious or depressed, I challenge the negative (and false) thoughts that pop into my head. Might I fail? Sure, but regardless of what the final outcome may be, I WILL BE OKAY. I remind myself of all the good things that I have. I've met some people who say it helps them to make a list each day, or to start off the day by stating what they're thankful for. You may want to give that a shot. =)

Thanks so much for the replies. The trial didn't really go that great, but I did another trial in a different place for a slightly easier job and they seemed to want to take me on. Phew. I think it's just the trials that give me the most anxiety, and making mistakes and not being sure of things.
