Anyone got any advice on how to stop worrying in life and looking at things from a more logical point of view? - September 5th 2016, 04:12 PM

I'm someone who worries a lot about the possibility of what could happen what isn't likely to happen and what may happen. No matter the chances of it happen even if it's a million to one chance of it happening I will on hand to worry my socks off about it. For 1 this is not healthy 2 this is also causing me to feel depressed and bring me down when really I should be trying to keep myself happy which can be difficult sometimes.

Has anyone got any advice on how I could deal with this any methods I can use to change my thought process? Sometimes I feel all down and stuff and then suddenly perk up because my brain is looking at things more logically it's weird but I have always been one to struggle with a little of Anxiety in life.

It's not weird at all, and I know how you feel because I do the same sometimes.

You could try challenging those thoughts and realistically thinking about whether it would happen or not and what evidence suggests that it won't happen, to help reassure you. For every negative thought, try to find a positive argument against it e.g. if you worry about fainting in public (negative thought) you can tell yourself that this has never happened and is unlikely to happen (positive thought).

However, if you find yourself constantly worrying, then perhaps it might help to set aside some 'worrying time' each day, and try to distract yourself during the day when you find these worrying thoughts pop up. You can remind yourself that you can't predict the future, and that you are prone to worrying, so these thoughts aren't necessarily going to come true.

Hope this helps a bit
