Leftover anxiety? - December 1st 2009, 12:57 AM

I noticed that with every anxiety attack I've had, I've experienced a bit of leftover anxiety for the next couple of days. The first day afterward is the worst; I kind of feel like I might be on the verge of having another one off and on. And the next couple of days after that, I can just feel a bit of it lingering. Is that normal? I'm not really sure what to make of it and was curious as to whether or not this kind of thing normally goes along with anxiety. Thanks in advance.

Hi there
Yes I have have "leftovers' too. I always have some anxiety left the next day then the feeling goes away over the next few days. The length seems to depend on how severe the original attack was.

So don't worry, its normal

Hey, pm me if you like.

You have it too? Oh, good, I'm not the only one. It just seemed so weird to me because all the stuff I read about anxiety talks about it like it's this sudden thing that happens for no reason and goes away without a trace just like that. I mean, I suppose that's the case sometimes, but not all the time. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Hi..sorry for not posting earlier..net problems and school .

Im glad you feel better Sometimes, it does go away without any lingering. One counsiler had put like throwing a rock in a pond...takes a while for the little waves to go away. I always think of that, makes me feel better (in some wierd way)

Anyhoo...really happy you are feeling good .
