It definately takes a while to master the art of calming yourself down. Anxiety attacks are caused by irrational thinking so it is difficult to stop and get your brain to start thinking rationally and then actually convince your mind you are ok. Even if breathing doesn't help right away continue with it. All these things take time so don't give up. Try counting when you are breathing and close your eyes. Tell yourself you are ok. People are here to help you. You've have anxiety before and you've gotten through it so you can do it again. Ask yourself what is the worst that can happen. Also, what helps me is asking friends to like tell me a story or something when I feel my anxiety coming on. Then most of the time I'm able to avoid it before it gets really bad. Let me know if you need anything else!
