I could be getting shots today.

I am TERRIFIED of shots. I'm not sure why.

Medical stuff scares the shit out of me most of the time. I cry over shots.

I still don't know for sure but I know I'm stressed over this.

Hey

I completley understand where you're coming from. When I was in high school I volunteered to give blood thinking it was a good idea. Turns out they stick a needle in your arm for an entire hour and the only thing you get out of the deal is a stupid donut! haha well it turns out I'm more afraid of needles than I am rollercoasters (and I'm deathly afraid of those things). Luckily your just getting a shot so its going to be REALLY fast.. so just close your eyes and think about something that makes your happy lol.. it wont be that bad, it just wont be fun for like 32 seconds.. and than its over.. cool right?

I used to be really afraid of shots as well. Make sure you don't look when they stick the needle in, that can make you feel nauseous and uncomfortable. The most essential thing to dealing with shots is understanding that it is only as bad as you make it to be. If you say I'm going to be a little uncomfortable for a few seconds and then it'll be over, then there's no problem.

I agree with a previous poster that you should try looking away when they give the actual shot. That's what I do to this day.

When I was younger I was absolutely terrified of them, which wasn't good since I had to have a bunch for my surgeries. They'd have to get two nurses and my mother to hold me down to give them to me when I was 4-5.

As time went on, I found out that for me the worst part about it was the time before the shot rather than getting the shot. I think we tend to work ourselves up over things that scare us and that is more negative than the experience itself.
