I could really use some advice from people who also deal with anxiety attacks. -

I've had anxiety problems since I was a little kid. Now they're turning into attacks. I don't have them too often, maybe 3-4 times a week, but in between I'm on edge waiting for the next one. It's really making life hard. I'm open to any advice from others dealing with this. Thank you.

Hey Chase,
If you look through this forum, you'll notice that there are quite a few threads asking for advice on anxiety attacks/panic attacks. I say that to point out that you're certainly not alone in this. (: I have not have anxiety attacks myself, and I think my most direct encounter in dealing with them would be one of my swim lesson kids, who had frequent panic attacks...which were magnified when she was in/around the pool/the water. We actually have an article in the Mental Health articles section -- Panic Attacks -- that discusses the basics, some things one might do to prevent these attacks, and some ways to cope with them. Have you identified any triggers or stressors that may set off or increase your vulnerability to having these attacks (or, maybe they occur more frequently when you're at school vs. when you're at home)? Basically, I think identifying any patterns might be a good start for you for looking at what the cause of these may be. Hope this reply finds you well. ![]() |
