My name is Toni and I'm 21(hope that is okay, I know I'm not a teen) but, I have been dealing with extreme anxiety since March. I have recently started biting myself which I am aware is self harm. Could this behavior be linked to my anxiety and if so, how can I stop the biting.
A little back story about my anxiety, I lost my father in December of last year. The anxiety started three months after he died which was in March. I haven't been able to see a doctor because I can't afford to right now. I hope you can at least point me to the right path to beating this. |

I'm sorry to hear about your dad.
As for the self harm, try this list of alternatives: http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f12-s...ves-self-harm/ Hope it helps. Blackbird singing in the dead of night Take these broken wings and learn to fly. All your life You were only waiting for this moment to arise. ♥the Beatles ![]() Tumblr |

The self-harm could be linked to the anxiety relating to your father, or it could be linked to something else entirely. Based on the information you gave us, I can't really venture a guess. Definitely consider seeing a psychological professional, though. You don't need to pay $100 per session - there ARE cheaper, and even FREE ways to obtain psychological services. Here's a link to an article I wrote last year with some ideas on where you can look for help. =)
