Any one ever been on xanx?? You dont have to take it every day right? Any one have a parent that is so controlling of there meds. My mom is so controlling of my meds it makes me mad and whatever you say there is no changing her mind. Im 19 I should eb aloud to know were my meds are or in my bath room. I tell herr stop treating me like im 5. She has to have my meds in her room and she wont let me know where they are so annoying. One time i did find out where they were and was aloud to get my own med now shes controlling again and hid them. She gets it and brings it to be so annoying I just wish I could have my med in my bathroom. People tell me this is not a big deal its jsut a pill swallow it your done.

The thing is I got prescribed xanx and its a med you dont take all the time only when you want wich is really bad for me because my mom was like you know if you get it im going to be in control of it ITS LIKE GEEZZ SHUT UP AND STOPP IM NOT 5. Because of this she has not turned in the prescription for it yet and I have not bugged her about it because I know if I get it filled its jsut going to be another fight/battle with her when I want it and such. Its like I take bendryl to calm down because it makes me loopy and out of it and a little sleepy. My mom doesn t know that and for once I truley believ Im using the bendryl pill like its a ant anxitey med. So i want the xanx so I can stop using the bendryl but then I know my moms just going to hide the xanx and im sure it wil be a another fight/ battle to have it when I want. ARGGGG

This sounds incredibly frustrating for you. At 19 years old it seems like you shouldn't have to be dealing with this stuff. I have never taken this medication, but I wanted to weigh in on the rest of the topic. I am assuming you've had several discussions with your mom about how you feel regarding her keeping all of your meds. What is her reasoning? You are presumably a responsible adult that can take your own medication responsibly without a parent's permission. I think your first step is to stop the self medicating using the benadryl as this does not help that image. Was the doctor there to explain the significance of the medication?

Yup your right I should its so annoying. She just tells me I just want to make sure you take it and Im like geez just stop treating me like Im five. I do take them and then she just goes on about how Im the mother and I have to do this and bla bla bla. My med therapist even saw that in my mom the control the babing still he said to me your mom sure seems to want control and you want some independence. Im like yes thats totaly it finaly a adult sees that he said he will talk to her about that. He has not yet so dont know if he will. I just cant wait til I get out of the house I can have my meds all to my self no fight. The bendrly when you take it makes you feel just like a anti anxiety med. I didnt know that til I tried the xanx and then once i did I relized why I was taking the bendryl. I really do want to stop the bendrly and for me to be able to stop it I need the xanx. But Im scared and dont want another fight/ battle with my mom so I have not bugged her about getting the prescription filled for xanx. I guess we dont always get what we want but her control is killing me and she doesnt get that because of her stupid control im taking bendrly if she wasnet controling I could have the xanax so I wouldnt do the bendryl. I might just bug her to get ti filled but I know if I do Ill regret it the first talk will be Im controling this and bla bla and then I know the second battle and fight will be I want one now and her asking all these questions on why and no you dont need one. And its like geeezz if I say I want one then just give it to me stop babying me. Of course you know if im asking for like 3 a day then yeah thats wrong but Im not going to abuse it.
