all of my life, i swear i'm not exaggerating,
the only thing i've ever pictured myself doing is singing.
i want to go to college for the double majors of vocal performance and musical theater, but i want more than that. i want to do auditions,
performances, and just be a performer at my age.
but times are hard, and my family's never been rich.
is there any way i can get noticed by agents or anything with little money?
or should i just try to find a new dream?

This post reminded me of that song by Journey - Don't stop believing.

Which is something you should do, don't stop believing. Usually I am extremely cynical, but this dream is entirely possible.

But you need to promise to yourself you will take initiative and pursue your dreams. Aim extremely high and try to work your way up.

what you can always do is cut some demos, or have a friend thats good at making music and record some vocals over his stuff. and submit them do different labels, even if its bad quality, you know Bieber got noticed by a youtube video, and look at him now,

Send out demos. Try and get noticed as a backing singer and stuff at first. Send your demos to agents etc.

I remember I once watched a movie called AI, best movie evar!

any respectable agent will not charge you money up front, they will just take 10-20% of your pay once they get you work.

that's one more problem with it.
i have no friends that are good at making music, and i have no equipment or music. i'm a pathetic excuse for a singer.
