Getting Away... -
October 2nd 2010, 11:09 PM
So, let me just explain something first... My family is NOT perfect, in fact, far from it. I want to get away for a while, you know? Just to be by myself and have a little relaxing time. Hey, one of my parents are welcome to come along if they want.
Here's the deal; I have an old best girl friend down in Florida whom I want to spend some time with, and this summer I want to go there alone (or with one of my parents). You see though, money can be tight, and so far my parents don't seem to keen on leaving our little Oregon home. But the thing is, we take a lot of vacations to Illinois every year and I've already offered giving up both my Christmas and Birthday gifts (which can go up to $300 at times) in order to put that money towards plane tickets. Now, I think I've got my basic grounds covered for asking again, but I want to make sure... I need this. Any suggestions to improve my likeliness for a yes? Additional Information: I'm fourteen, my parents are divorced yet live near each other. My parents both have decent jobs and I often get rather spoiled. You're 14.. Odds are your parents will say no even though you've offered to give up gifts.
You're young, so sending you on a plane by yourself to a different state probably wont sit well with them. Your best bet would to be to ask for one of them to go with you even then that's a long shot... Just because they have good jobs and you get spoiled doesn't mean they want to fork over the money for some random vacation just so you can "get away" Don't be mad at them if they say no. If they do actually say yes, then more power to ya and have fun. .:6:21 a.m.:. .:12-01-2007:. .:Logan Jacob:. My Everything I support Project Linus!
