Skinheads

There has been much debate on what skinheads are, there's a truth and lie about them, this very contreversal topic and I'm curious on the results, before the thread closes I'll tell the true answer an well see who's misinformed and who's right.

Well the Skinhead subculture originated among working class youths in the UK in the 1960s, named for there shaven heads. and they were influenced by the Jamaican rude boys and the British Mods in the terms of fashion, music and lifestyle, and they were based on that and not politics or race. So at the start they were not a racist group.

the Neo-Nazi skinheads however i believe came about in the 70s-80s time frame when the original skinhead culture all but dyed out. and thats were the skinheads as we know it came about.

but also in 1987 a group called Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice came about to recognize the origins of how the skinhead subculture was actually all about and resent the neo-nazis that hijacked the name and subculture.

Actually you got most of that right, that's great you got the research before commenting like many others do. I just wanna see how more people react, they could hate them but at least be well informed about them, (ps this involves me introducing myself, not that I am one anyway.)

actually joe ive known a bit about them i looked it up one day when i was watching the tail end of the neo nazi skinhead doc, and it was talking about the Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice group so i kinda looked it up from there but that was a few months or so back lol but i usually will look up anything i dont fully understand

Ok I admit it I'm a skinhead the "good" kind oh and by the way my "name" is based of the song Joe Hawkins by the Oi! The Oppressed, based off the character in the book Skinhead by Richard Allen lol, and by the way nice to meet you
