Going to a partayyyy... for the first time? -
October 5th 2011, 07:32 PM
Okay, so I've been invited to my first 'proper' house-party-type-thing. Like, alcohol and lots of people. And it's fancy dress :')
Just... tell me how to act? What to do? How to convince my parents to let me drink? Any advice? Is it stupid I'm so worried about this? xD LiveHelpOperator|TalentCommittee RIP Grandad xxx |

Drinking at 15 -16 is quite normal In Europe in some countries u can drink from 16 legally low procent alcohol.
Either way House parties are ment to be fun of course so i wouldnt over think what you should act like , just tag along with friends then expand meet new people .. if new people are coming. What to do , well basicly whats fun by that i mean talking to interesting people ,dancing with friends perhaps a guy (who knows right) , drinking abit etc.... About drinking i don't know whats ur parents opinion on drinking but if they are understanding perhaps ask them if u can have a beer or two .. If not i suppose ull drink anyway but just don't mix alcohol stop when you feel abit tipsy and make sure u have enough time before you need to go home so u can sober out. (3 hours does it for me when im fairly under influence cant say whats it for u since you are young and a girl)further tips: dont go to bed with weirdly acting boys ![]() Have Fun -Golem |

Just relax and be yourself
If you have any friends there you can talk to them, but its also fun to meet new people! Just don't talk to any people who seems sketchy and make sure you take care of yourself.

You don't need to over think it, just go and have fun. Talk to friends, meet new people, dance and whatever else there is to do there and if you do drink, don't over do it and end up getting too drunk, that is never the way to end a good night!

Drinking at parties is what everyone does, it's pretty normal, just be careful you don't drink too much or you may regret it later. I'm guessing you know someone going, a friend, in which case stay with them. People will be in groups drinking and possibly doing drugs, people will let go of themselves so all you have to do is relax and be yourself. Don't keep yourself on a leesh but don't do anything stupid :P
Once you're there it will all fall into place, the alcohol will have an influence on you and you'll have good time Just talk to your parents, explain what it will be like and ask if you could have a drink or 2. It's pretty normal and you should probably let them know what adults will be there so nobody will get too drunk. If you're sleeping over you could always have 1 or 2 more without them knowing, if you're not sleeping I would stick to the amount you said unless they don't have a problem with it. I'm sure you'll have a greeeat time and I can't wait to here about it ![]() Xxx When life gives you one thousand reasons to cry, show life one million reasons to SMILE! ![]() Because we all love pigs |

Okay thanks guys
![]() To the first person - here in England, although the legal age for drinking is 18, nearly everyone has had alcohol before then, most people I know first got drunk aged about 13. So it's totally normal ![]() There's a bit of an issue over whether or not I'm actually going buuuut fingers crossed Thanks again! <3

If you do end up going, what the others said is true: jsut have fun and be yourself. If there's trouble with your parents and drink maybe you could tell them you'll drink what they buy you, that way they can buy you a specific amount and be able to trust you with it.
