Wink becoming an actress - July 15th 2012, 04:11 AM

Im interested in becoming an actress Ive worked in front of a camera already in school doing a show with other teens, and im very great with talking and meeting new people. I am great at remembering things, i can look at something once or twice and i know it already. Ive always wanted to become an actress or model, but i want to be an actress more. I just really want to do it, and be different from my family and just show them i can do anything i put my mind to and actually succeed. I just don't know how to go about starting as an actress or what I should do :/

The best way to achieve your dream is to get some practice in. If you're still in high school, you might want to consider taking a theater class or going out for some of your school's productions. However, if that isn't a possibility for you anymore, there are still other options. Do some research on some community theaters in your area and see if there is a specific one you might be interested in working with. If you visit the websites of the different theaters, they might have audition dates and times listed for the various productions that are coming up. Just keep your eye out for those and audition when you can. Even if the play or the role might not be what you're looking for, give it a shot. If nothing else, it will help you build your resume, which becomes very important as you move further into the acting community. Good luck!

Just audition for plays, and consider acting lessons, and perhaps consider a degree/diploma in theatre. You can look out for movies that doing auditions and find out how to audition for them and so on. You can probably also find out about getting an agent and stuff....

1.take high school/college theatre/acting classes.
2.google casting calls. Join an acting agency.
3. Have patience.

I agree with what everyone else has said

My only bonus fun fact is that it’d be a good idea to sit a Trinity Guildhall Speech and Drama exam or two - Grade 8 or ATCL because they’re internationally recognised and legit. They’ll look good on your CV and show you have put hard work in - and they’re not too difficult or expensive.

Just reinforces that you’re dedicated I guess. Good luck!

The link for the site is http://www.trinitycollege.co.uk/site/?id=139 although you’ll possibly need a teacher to coordinate the exam stuff

You can usually find me on my tumblr, Iím here for you (=
