Placement problems - August 20th 2012, 04:08 PM

So as part of my degree, I will be spending 8 months in a placement, 4 days a week.

For medical reasons i requested to be placed within my city. However, whilst other students have been i've not been. Apparently the council are unwilling to accept me because of the medical stuff :/

So, there trying to place me in another city. Which would be a bus, train, bus, walk commute there and back each day.

i'm not sure i can handle that as travelling is a big trigger for my anxiety.
But i'm worried that if i turn it down i'm not going to be able to get another one, as my own city refuses to have me.

Really not sure what to do.

Can you appeal to your city? Some places have an appeal process if you think you've been discriminated against, in your case because of medical reasons. Is there anyone at your uni who you can talk to about this, some kind of advisor who can help you sort it out? Also, is your anxiety diagnosed by a doctor? If so you may be able to get a medical note explaining why you can't travel, to help you appeal for a place in your own city.

Do you have a relative living in a near by city so you could maybe move in with them so you don't have to worry about commuting all the time
