Retaking Algebra 2/French 2 - February 2nd 2013, 09:20 PM

Yeah. it's pretty obvious I'm going to fail Algebra 2 by now. I've failed first quarter, second quarter and the midterm. I actually may have a very low D for second quarter though. I have a tutor I see every week. To pass I would have to get A's on everything now, and I get F's on nearly everything.

I failed my German exam and got a D for the quarter. I don't know what's going on. I took a year of French, and then I dropped out because the teacher sucked, and I didn't learn anything. I'm wondering if I should take French 2. I don't really remember anything from French 1 though.

If I took Algebra 2 in the summer would I be able to pass?

I guess it really depends on why you aren't passing it now. Is it because you don't understand or you can't be bothered with the work? Or something else?

I fail every assignment. I get every question wrong most of the time.

Hey there,

It might help if you looked into getting a tutor. I don't know if that would help bring your grade up enough to pass the semester but it might help you during the summer. I think that tutors can be a great way to get extra help when struggling in subjects like math. I know at one point I had to get a tutor for math and she helped me to better understand concepts that I was struggling with.

As for the foreign language, if you don't remember much from French 1 I am not sure if it would be wise to take French 2. Is there any way you could talk to the German teacher and ask him or her what you can do to raise you grade? Maybe they will be able to help you find a tutor or will offer to help go over the material a bit more thoroughly after school.

Hope this helped.
