More of a rant... - January 12th 2009, 04:44 PM

I hate school.

I hate school.
Everything about it from the teachers to the peers. There are very few (and rare) things I actually like about my school such as friends.
I hate school.
The teachers are terrible. Only less than half of them can actually teach.
Most of my peers are idiots, careless, irresponsible, and ugh!
I have exams tomorrow. One of them includes Theatre. Easy, right? No. Wrong. Too lazy to make a test, our instructor tells us that our project will be our exam. Thing is though, we were told this some time ago and therefore, my group (who I do not even enjoy working with) thought that it would be okay to just procrastinate. Therefore, we have, and now I'm most likely going to fail the exam, therefore fail the semester, which concludes in me losing the credit for this semester. If there were better people in my Theatre class, ones that actually liked and wanted to do Theatre, I wouldn't be here right now. That's not the case though.
I just -- I don't know. I feel frustrated, and frustration leads (led) to tears. I'll get over this in a few weeks or months maybe. It's just that I'm a straight-A student (because my parents have consequences) and have been for some time. It's been years since I haven't actually cared if I fail, and being as I'm in high school now, it apparently matters what happened. I'm just hoping that somehow, it'll work out tomorrow.
I hate school.
*breathes*
All right. Off to studying. Good day.

I can so sympathize. Okay, last minute group projects in hard classes with classmates who don't only not give a crap about finishing the project, they don't give a crap about THE CLASS IN GENERAL. Ugh. Seriously?

Face it, kids suck and group projects suck and they're unfair... but there's the really scary shit: real life works like this too. In the real world, group accountability? when you're sitting in an office of people who just want to keep their jobs and that's it. Yeah, scary.

Well, I guess you have to work it for them. Write them scripts and notes, so that even the stupidest dolt could perform the project, and then if you want to and think it would be helpful, whine to the teacher. If the teacher is useless, don't bother whining.

Your job is to get through school and absorb the most knowledge possible. You should always supplement deficient teaching with personal studying and the study of things that interest you. High school may seem like a each to his own institution sometimes, when the school can't meet your needs. That's when personal responsibility has to come in.. who else is going to do it?

Ugh, that's awful. I'm sorry it's so bad for you. On the other hand, you're very strong to keep at it and keep studying. That takes a lot of will, and it's great that you're still studying and putting up with it. Maybe you could find little ways to make it funner, like giving the teachers you dislike a silly nickname, or something like that. Hope it works out for you!

Thanks you two.
I suppose real-life is similar to high school and all, but still -- I just wish it wasn't high school.
I absolutely love theatre. I guess there's just more to it then I believed.
Thank you, again.

It can be so tough sometimes. Just remember that it will get better.
Theatre is amazing! That's great you have something you like! No problem. Again, feel free to PM me if you ever need to rant or anything. =)

Just b/c theater the class sucks doesn't mean that theater sucks. It just means you have to do outside of class learning to get what you want...

Ugh! Reminds me of history class. We are forced to work in groups a lot more often now because, "it is a great way for you to learn as an individual". That's complete BS in my opinion. I just end up doing all the work, and they get credit for it. In some cases, they even got the better mark! I can't do group projects anyway, because I have very little time after school. I have to take a bus across the city just to get home, so I'm not going to stay late after school. I"m always stuck with somebody who doesn't do any work, and I'm always stuck with somebody who I don't like.

Also, at work, it is the same way. I am in a position where we need a lot of people to accomplish the work, and I do the same amount of work as the rest of the employees combined on some days. On some days after work I am so exhausted, just because i have to do the same work that it would take 3 employeese normally. It's a good thing I like physical work, and that I love my job.
