I just wanted to confirm meaning of the term adverb clause and found this which gives a criteria of what makes an adverb clause. So based on that I would say A is the answer.

A- Wherever they go: is adverb clause of place.
So, I'd go with A

I don't think it's B, because B can stand alone. You can say "Many people went to sleep" and it sounds fine by itself. I think it's A.

Re: Basic English Skills Help, please part 2 - December 2nd 2014, 04:56 AM

Hey, I agree with it being 'B' in the first one.

With the second one, I agree with Cassie, I think it's 'A'
You can rearrange the sentence; 'Many people went to sleep right after sun down, before electricity became available.'
So, here 'before' becomes the subordinating conjunction and 'before electricity became available' is adverb clause of time.

Also, adverb clause includes both a noun and a verb but it cannot stand alone as its own sentence. You will also find a subordinate conjunction (at the beginning) that keeps the clause from expressing a complete thought. I hope this helped.
