Need help with suggesting new accounts and services!!! - November 21st 2014, 05:31 AM

Alrighty! I work at a bank and part of my role as a teller is to get people to sign up for new services and such. One way we do this is by writing the customer a letter informing them about the service(s) they would might be a good match for. First I review their account and then make some choices for what would be good.

I'm havinf issues starting out my letter though... Some of these customers have never met me and I don't know them but we have a cheat sheet of nam es we get them from. I don't want to say "I was looking over your account" because I really don't have a reason to be in there unless I'm doing something for them and some people don't like that... How can I go about suggesting services and new accounts through a note without being too intrusie, threatening, or nosey.

How would you go about this or how would you appreciate the letter reading to you? It's just that opening part I'm stuck on... Please help... I'm really struggling on money and if I don't land these it could cost my job and I know I won't get any bonus' or raises... I make barely above minimum wage and it's killing me. I can't even afford to get my teeth fixed.

All help is appreciated!

"Just wanted to let you know about some new services / accounts / programs which you may be interested in" or something like that sounds like a perfectly good opening to me.

I agree with Hiraeth, and you could also say ‘accounts that may be suited to you’ as you are trying to match accounts to them individually.
