I hate my school so f***ing much

If anybody has a chance to go to Michigan STATE University, don't. This place fucking sucks.

Go Wolverines? I'm sorry buddy, I can't even imagine hating my school that much. ASU may piss me off sometimes, but it's given me a lot of opportunities I would have never had and I have enjoyed my experience here. Have you thought about transferring?

Why don't you like MSU? I don't know much about the school besides the colors are green and white. I considered that school for a little bit but out of state tuition sucks.

I grew up the biggest Michigan fan in the world, and to me, trying to conform to this stupid culture of nonstop partying and stupidity (compared to Michigan) is poisonous to me.
I hate MSU pretty unfairly though... I always hated them growing up, and even now, I'm not really putting myself out there. When I wrote this post, I was really pissed.

I wasn't smart enough to get into Michigan. That's not to say I'm dumb, but even with the great grades I had, they wanted a lot more.
People say its a good university, sure, but I got a 3.5 in all my classes despite only going to half of them. Its way too easy for me.

I'm surprised, because if you did that well in high school, I don't see how you wouldn't be "smart enough" to get into U of M. I know people that got in with like a 3.0. Why don't you transfer? A 3.50 is alright.

Edit: By alright, I meant it's a good GPA and definitely alright enough to have a good chance there. I didn't mean to sound like I was minimizing your high grades.

What year are you? Maybe it is way too easy because you are in introduction classes and taking the general classes required by all students.
As you get farther into the learning process, you will find more challenge and if you do not, find challenge outside of school. Find activities that you enjoy that you can challenge yourself at maybe a sport as an example.

I had a 3.9 and a 30 on the ACT, AND I took all the hardest classes my school had! And I went to a great school! I hate to pull this card, but if I wasn't a white male, I honestly think I would've gotten in.

It may have just been they had better applicants that particular year. Have you considered reapplying and transferring? It's worth a try if you really are not happy at MSU.

Yes, I do. Why would I lie about that? Grades and ACT aren't everything. On the flip side, I also know people with much higher grades/ACT that didn't get in. Personally, I almost applied but didn't for undergrad. I have a stronger chance if I finish my degree then apply. If not, then I'll try again.
And so... do you think I got into good schools because I'm a non-white female? I highly doubt race was the deciding factor. Back in April, I'm pretty sure the supreme court upheld the ban on Affirmative Action here. They may have changed that but I haven't heard anything about it.

Of course I didn't think you were lying. Honestly, I think I wouldve had a better chance though if I had done NHS, stuck with football, joined theatre... something. But I still think Affirmative Action exists, even if its not official university policy. A friend of mine who was a white girl actually had identical or equivalent everything that I did and got in immediately. And no, I'm not racist, my brother is actually black. (adopted) The reason I think it exists though is because my dad teaches at a terrible inner city school (that happens to be mostly black) and even though majority of the kids are failing, it seems like everybody who avoids getting under a 3.0 are given extra leeway for college, for whatever reason.

Why didn't you go to a branch campus? I know a doctor that went to the Dearborn campus. If it is like Ohio State, they will let the branch campuses transfer in.


Also, if it is like Ohio State, it is very easy to transfer into the school after the first year if you do well. I considered U of M but it is waaaaay too expensive for an out of state person like me. I may go there for graduate school for NP but that's if I am able to get a job in the hospital doing anything.

I think MSU is a great place to study. I have some friends that study in MSU and I haven't heard anything bad about the uni.
That's just emotions you should control sometimes. You probably had some reasons to say that but you should at least explain what disappointed you.
