Anyone taking AP Bio and AP Physics? - May 9th 2009, 05:01 AM

I am! And the exams are BOTH on Monday. Does that suck or what? Has anyone else gone through this? Is anyone here about to? Any tips?
Lets band together in solidarity! You and me against the AP! :P

And a general good luck wish to anyone who's got any exams left!

When I was in highschool, I did AP bio, chem, calc and physics. However, being a lazy ass, I didn't study for the AP exams, only for the course exams. The AP physics exam tends to start off easy then gradually gets harder. The remaining questions we didn't learn, so I just rambled about nothing coherent. You're given an equation booklet, although you may not need all of the equations and some I had no clue what they were for. AP bio is similar in that it too begins easy then progressively gets harder. I may be mixing this up with AP physics, so apologies in advance, however, there were many short/long answer questions. The questions weren't about any particular feature of biology in particular.

However, I didn't study for them, I believe my highest mark was on AP bio (around a 4 or so) and the others were lower. That being said, I never skipped first year as I didn't want to.

I'm not taking AP Bio, but I am taking AP Physics. Of course, my college doesn't give credit for AP Physics, so even if I get a 5, it won't really matter.

I took AP physics last year. I took the C one with both of the exams (mechanics, E&M) and it wasn't awful. It felt awful when I left the room, but it was okay because of the curve.

You'll have conceptual multiple choice questions, or easy calculations, because that part is NO FORMULA SHEET and.. it really just tests if you understand concepts. You want to rack up as many points as you can here because while you do get a formulas sheet for the free response, it's generally a waste of your time because the formulas alone won't help you solve the thing, as you will be combining formulas and doing some general weird shit. But don't worry too much, it's curved. A LOT.

AP bio is just memorization.... All science is either Physics or stamp collecting. Kidding! I never took it, anyway.
