Uni information/ucas - January 13th 2009, 01:54 PM

Ok, so i applied a few weeks before xmas to ucas. I was wondering when i can expect to hear?

I've heard from 4/5 just to say they've recieved my application...but i'm getting nervous.

Like whens the deadline to hear back? If you dont hear back is that a rejection? or do you hear back to say you've been rejected?

It's an interview based course, and I havent heard back from any to call me to interview? Does this mean i havent been accepted? Or will they let me know that?

ARRRGGHH stressing

They should tell you direct whether rejected or otherwise. It can't hurt to ring up I suppose

If the course is interview based they will invite you to interview before they tell you whether you've been accepted or rejected.

Mine was like that, I got letters in the post asking me to interview then I found out through ucas if I got in about 1 -2 weeks later.

Some places may just straight out reject you (one did to me ) and if they do it'll come up on your ucas. If your hearing nothing its a good sign at the moment.

Their deadline to let you know is April so theres ages yet, so try not to stress.

What course did you apply for?

I'm doing social work at the moment so when you get invited to interview drop me a PM and I'll tell you what sort of thing they asked me last year to give you a bit of an idea because interviews are scary.

I didn't get invited to one interview til March, so try not to worry Hard I know but still if you stress it'll just make the time go by slower. What unis have you applied to?

I went for an interview at York for social work last year! I didn't end up going there but the city is lovely and it feels really safe. I very nearly did but where I'm at now just tipped it for me and I love it here, so yes.

The interviews are scary but they aren't there to catch you out, they just want to get to know you so they can assess your potential and see if they think you are suitable for their course. I'll speak to you about it nearer the time if you want that support!
