Studying Alone. - October 20th 2015, 10:37 PM

I am studying for my final examinations and the problem is, while it is final examination time for the University, it is also the final examination for the high school students. This, compounded by the fact that all Universities finish around the same time, and our institution's large enrolment base, means that it is difficult to be alone when studying outside of home.

Every single table is taken in the local libraries where I live and I kind of don't want to study at home. I also am thinking of driving to my University campus and spending the night there before the exam, preparing. This said, considering our enrolment base and the fact that it is exam time, I don't doubt that there will be a significant amount of people in the libraries and surrounding areas, even at 4:00AM.

You have a good idea and then it turns out that 4,000 people have the exact same awesome idea as you. How do you be alone?

What about at like a bookstore or any other place that is relatively quiet? I was searching online and that was 1 suggestion that came up multiple times.

When things got busy or I wanted to get away from home/libraries to do work, I would go to my local park and sit on a bench in a quiet area. I guess it was ok, with the occasional dog walker and jogger going past, and generally is a better idea when it's not raining (though big trees can make a good shelter...but I've never tried revising in the rain ) Maybe you could look into parks or something similar?

Coffee shops are also a popular choice but even then they can be kind of busy.

Hope you find somewhere to study soon!

Oh man, I felt this so hard during exam time when I was in uni. The main library was always crowded yeah, but there were tons of small libraries hidden all over campus, many of which only people who have classes in that building or are in that department, know about. Those places tend to be quiet, although the other catch is that their opening hours tend to be a very narrow range.
