Hey there!

I'm sorry that you struggled in school and didn't get accepted into college. I wouldn't stop trying to do something you enjoy doing. There are a lot of things you can do either on your own or partnered up with 1 or more people and become successful at. A motto that I have always lived by is this: If there's a will, there's a way. If you truly want to achieve something, you can.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that you were unsuccessful with your college application. Did they say why this way/are you able to call and ask why you were unsuccessful? It can be helpful to get feedback, so that you can find out what you have to improve on for the next time. As Michael said, if it's something you really want to do, then it's worth fighting for!

If your grades are the reason why you didn't get a place at college, is it possible to resit some of your exams? It might be worthwhile looking into that as a possibility.

Also, I moved your thread from mental health to the education forum, because I felt it fit better. But I do understand that it can make you feel like you aren't good enough. I want to reassure you that you are, and you will achieve your dreams. Try to look at this as a temporary obstacle that you'll overcome

Re: I 100% fail at everything i do. - March 5th 2016, 03:40 PM

When I initially applied to university, I didn't have enough points to get in (despite having NVQs and BTECs, plus work experience, they wanted A-Levels or the equivalent), so I had to go back to college to complete an Access Course. This took me two years instead of one and I then had to wait an extra year before going to uni because life stuff got in the way.

But I'm here at last. It did happen, despite the fact that there were many times when I thought it wouldn't because it was taking so long and there were multiple setbacks. The same can happen for you. You just need to not give up. You are still young and have plenty of time to achieve what you want to achieve.

I think it's good that the college has given you some direction, rather than a flat out 'no'. At least you know where to go from here. Have they given you information regarding how and where you can do the maths? Or are you already aware of this?

Be kind to yourself.
