Angry Freaking out over a test!!!!!!!!!! - March 11th 2016, 03:12 AM

I am literally freaking out! I have an Algebra test tomorrow and it seems no matter how hard I try I can never get any concepts and I always bomb the tests! I'm just frustrated.

It would be worth speaking to your teacher and seeing if you can get some extra tuition for algebra (stay behind at the end of class, or at the end of the day, etc). Sometimes one explanation doesn't make sense, but another does. It might be that you just need to be taught the concepts in a different way.

We all have our strengths and weaknesses and maybe algebra will never be your thing. But that's okay, because I'm sure there are lots of things you excel at.

Good luck for tomorrow's test. All you can do is try your best.

Be kind to yourself.

Hey there,

I agree with Jasmine- if you're struggling with algebra, it's best to talk to your teacher about it. There's no shame in asking for help and teachers do want to see you pass, so they will help you.

At the same time, it can help to practice algebra at home. For example, you can watch algebra tutorials on YouTube or find websites that allow you to learn and do quizzes on algebra- we have some resources you might want to look at here (don't be put of by the UK ones either, BBC Bitesize in particular has algebra in the GCSE or A-level section).

Hope this helps

Hi there,

How did the test go? I hope it went okay. I just wanted to encourage you to speak to your teacher about getting some help with what you're struggling with. Teachers can be pretty supportive to be honest and they're there to help with these things so don't be afraid to reach out for that help!

I hope your test went ok.

As suggested, I would talk to your teacher and ask for help. Maybe your school / teacher can hook you up with a tutor or something. I needed math tutors cause math is the woooorst! So it's no biggie, I always rocked at English personally.
